Palestinian-Israeli Conflict: movie

After living in the middle east, specifically in Palestine for the past 16 years, and coming here noticing that everyone believes that the Palestinians are bad side of the conflict and are the ones refusing peace, and I keep asking questions to my peers about the conflict and it all seems one sided and all seems that the American government does not want its people to see what is actually occurring on the other side of the world. I was please to see this movie and see how this is one of the few movies that shows the truth about the conflict at hand. This movie may seem to favor the Palestinian side; however, I feel that this is the reality. They take in consideration every aspect from both sides and not focus on one side like the American media due to political, social and economic ties. I had to deal with all of this, every time I want to leave my city to go to a city just 45 minutes away, I need to pass three checkpoints, stopping at each one and showing my id, getting search 80% of the time, watching old women struggling and getting yelled at from an 18 year old who is practicing his army duties in an inhumane way. I am glad that my peers where able to see the struggle 4 million Palestinians deals with in their daily lives.

  1. We Americans should be grateful that we dont have to live and travel worrying about check points and showing identification. I didn't know until the film we watched in class that Palestine is parted into two different regions. It is mind boggeling to think that it is almost impossible for Palestines to get from the West Bank to Gaza when there both the same country.

  2. palestinians are not even allowed to travel freely from city to city inside the West bank, not just they can't go to Gaza which is part of their land. hopefully one day all this will change, and people who claim themseleves as civilized humans, would realize how much it hurts to see your friends and brothers getting shoot and punshied for trying to live normal lives.

  3. Its crazy to believe that the Israeli mother did not seem to understand the persecution and mistreatment of the Palestinians when they are neighbors. Its seems there is a lack of communication between Palestinians and Israelis as well as a lack of communication and understanding between nations that allows this bloodshed and violence to continue. The mother needs to realize that actions brought on by the Palestinian film was lashing out for all the violence caused by the constant Israeli invasions.
